What is the Agana Healing Therapy for men?

The process is composed of one-session or multiple-sessions that includes conversations, emotional healing, body healing and sexual exercises that men do by themselves at home, or with their partners.

The meetings are held fully clothed and do not include sexual contact.

One thing most men dread more than anything is being emotionally exposed. When a man is willing to be seen in his vulnerability, or while experiencing pain in front of another person, he essentially overcomes his basic survival instinct to hide, to shut himself away while declaring to the world that he is strong and has no weaknesses. When as a man, I allow myself to be exposed, I risk having my weakness be seen. When that happens, I might tell myself that as a result others will not love me, not respect me or not appreciate me. This survival mindset makes many men become closed off, guarded and most of all utterly afraid of exposing their heart. You make sure the armour you wear to protect your heart is sealed so no one may enter and see you in your vulnerability.

The healing process men go through with Dorit Bar doesn’t deal only with sex or challenges that have to do with sexual function – the purpose of the process is to open up the heart, develop skills of intimate and conscious sexual communication, and replace the learnt habit of being closed off – with a willingness to be your authentic self, to trust and be open to everything life has to offer, including sexuality and intimacy.

Who is the Agana Healing Therapy for?

The process can be beneficial for any man who faces difficulties with: Intimate communication with his partner, impotence, premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, difficulty feeling confident in the partner’s presence, difficulty in accepting or defining sexual identity, painful breakup, low libido and sexual desire, difficulty satisfying his partner, addiction to sex, porn or sexual fantasies, difficulty approaching women (or men) and creating an intimate relationship.

When it comes to physical challenges in the sexual function, it is advisable to first see a urologist (a medical professional who specializes in the male reproductive system) before scheduling an appointment with Dorit Bar. This is in order to rule out clear medical conditions that might be at the root of the challenge. Once a medical examination has been performed, and a physical cause has been ruled out – a healing journey using the Agana Healing Therapy program can help men let go of emotional and mental blockages, allow the body to enter a new kind of flow, and open us up to experience life with better intimacy, sexuality, intimate expression; A life full of passion and love.

The Mature Man; Owning responsibility and practicing forgiveness

The next stage of men’s development is a part of the current collective process. In this stage, men begin to allow themselves to live life through their own connection to love, truth and to our body.

Taking a closer look at the #MeToo movement, one can easily notice the fact that most of the stories were shared by women. While there were a few brave men who shared their stories as well, they were mostly from the perspective of the ones who were assaulted. In present times we mostly see men silenced, forced to hide and pressured to keep quiet by taboos, because today’s culture and society leave no room for men to express weakness or vulnerability. In addition, we seldom hear the stories of the offenders. They normally do not dare expose themselves, for fear of experiencing condemnation, judgment and criticism by society.

“Until men undergo deep sexual-emotional healing as well, we will continue to live within the cycle of human suffering and recreation of trauma. Trauma in its core is similar to  a double-edged blade. The person who harms others sexually inevitably harms himself in the process. On one hand, while harming others, the offenders harm themselves, and at the same time their violent behavior is normally the result of a trauma they’ve experienced themselves at the hand of others in the past. Violence is cyclical by nature, it repeats itself, and in its core essence it is a cry to heal all sides.”

#Mentoo – a movement for sexual and emotional healing for men

The next step in the journey for collective emotional and sexual healing is #Mentoo – in it, men share, they tell their stories, expose their vulnerability and seek healing for themselves. The next stage of healing that the human collective consciousness seeks must come from men having the courage to share their experiences, in situations in which they have been hurt or have harmed others. Wounds that remain deeply hidden in the shadow fester and recreate the trauma. On the other hand, bravely shedding a light – on everything – is an act of freedom and of love. Men who dare to go to therapy, to share with friends and to speak their heart’s truth, are the ones who are laying the foundation to a new age of men, an age that inspires hope and establishes trust between the sexes.

We all walk this road together, men and women alike, we are friends and allies. We are here to help, support, connect, forgive and heal each other from the cycle of trauma. In the new age men begin to see that they are also allowed to heal, and have  a space to heal in, a space where men can be exposed, and seek help. They dare to take full responsibility for situations in which they might have been violent , and learn to ask for forgiveness and primarily learn to forgive themselves.
